In this record Asem Shama provides an EP which solidly represents his sound , he has made a vast contribution to the electronic music scene for the past 15 years or so, and that level of skill and refinement show. From promoting parties in Hannover back in the mid nineties, producing techno for labels like Highgrade, Frisbee, Ostwind and Paso, to releasing chart topping singles, Asem has a diverse discography that some of us could only wish for. As co founder of Sportclub Music and boss of Ghostline Electronics, we were excited to get him on board to celebrate our twentieth release. Dream Sequence dives straight in at the deep end, heavily leaning on a stand out bassline from start to end. Intricate and forceful analogue synth work is what defines this track, with clever vocal sampling & percussive rolls used to complement and confirm the music argument being put across here. We´re even treated to the odd bird song! Ivan Serra & Nhitto dish up the remix, residents of the newly reopened and utterly legendary Metrodanceclub in Alicante who offer a much more sincere and serious version of the track that really represents the Spanish techno scene as it now, clear in its aesthetics and with a rolling drive. ´And Nothing Else´ the B side to this release, will appeal to those who like things with a little more swing. Asem exposes his more instrumental side on here with a sultry guitar riff that comes in mid-way through, punctuating a rhythmic piece and adding that all important air of something different.
