Talk about ubiquitous stars. Between his role on TV's General Hospital and his No. 1 hit, "Jessie's Girl," Rick Springfield was everywhere you looked in the beginning of the 1980s. With "Jessie's Girl," Springfield hadn't yet become a star in the U.S., and he sang it with an urgency, begging to be taken seriously; by the time of his "Human Touch" single, that's the last thing that was happening. Like most teen idols, Springfield became a caricature of himself. However, there is something redeeming about the unabashed bubblegum glory of "Don't Talk to Strangers," and "Affair of the Heart."
