Undone Tears

"Undone Tears" is GRAMMY artist and Pushcart Poetry nominee's first EP, and first venture into the world of electronic word performance. These poems were written and recorded as a thematic series to entice the listener/reader out of stereotypical thinking of the physical elements of our world into mental escape that is sensual, soulful, thought-provoking and uplifting. Cloud, Moon, Rain, Sun and Wind take listeners where reality refuses. Here we fall into Rain, taste salty Cloud or inhale Moon and its tangy essence. Rain is pure electronica. Moon heavy psychedelic. Cloud bass. Sun spanish guitar. Wind classical orchestra. Each piece unique to carry the storyline of the piece. J. Scott G. and Kevin Gutierrez take Janice Kephart’s word performance s and drench them with trippy sound backdrops and punctuation, outstanding quality, creative production and mix. Their work is based on years of production for Deepsky Productions and in their own studios including the likes of Madonna, Johnny Cash, America, David Bowie, Seal and many others. “Janice Kephart's 'Moon' is Fresh Pick of the Day on RADIO WOT90, a station featuring women singer-songwriters.” - Mark Collins, RADIO WOT90 (Nov 08, 2008) "Tonight I inhale Moon"....That piece iz so DOPE! Thx 4 sharing ur electric world of poetry. - C. Nidice MOON Tonight I inhaled moon Rising in a darkening sky Light’s reflection beckoned, blinded Chiseled features and bright eyes took me in while I swooned Swooned at his aroma, doting me with the most earthly scents My eyes closed, my chin lifted Other senses slowed down slowly, softly stopping Until all I could take in of my moon man Was his tangy essence I breathed in, letting my chest heave, billow I dared him to watch me shimmy, shine in a way I believed only existed in the heavens— I gave permission to just hold me there, silently in his gaze until I noticed I was binding to this shining countenance It was there, in that moment Under moon spell, that I succumbed to Oils made for man to seduce woman Deep roots of veviter, woody smoky sweet Mixing with geranium’s bourbon, for steady intoxication Warmth of cinnamon bark, aligning my spirit with his Everlasting life of cypress, reminding me that death only renews life, again Piquant yet light sensations of tangerine, energizing Coriander and sandalwood for wholly unnecessary aphrodisiac qualities Pungent zest of yuzu, so as to not miss an instant Ah, to be seduced with moon tangy essence To be seduced, and requested to inhale him all Perhaps not just scent I inhaled Of that moon man RAIN Tonight I fell into rain Splattering, washing, cleansing My hair drenched My face that of a young bird seeking nourishment from its mother My clothes clinging, little more than un-spun laundry on human form But I didn't mind These drops of undone tears Crying away my pain Instead, I opened my face to Purity My curves to Inanimate animation Firm, predictably unpredictable sensation Inhuman, yet so humane to tactile sensibilities And the rain, caressing me as if I had attempted the persuading, Did more than tease and tickle A spa-like massage Like a once-time lover The rain did this-- Fell into me, soaking my soul With mercy, forgiveness, kindness A baptism towards faith Sought, yet elusive In myself, in my life, in my future This rain, this simple set of water drops Its lyrics embedded in touch Its rhythm set to pulse Its bass line's path driven towards hypnosis Left me wondering About the fall I'd taken Its meaning beyond – laundry – While the questions begged: Does bathing mean more to the faithful? Does a storm save or savage a soul? Does the rain have more merit, if you fall into it? This answer came, simple, decisive: Perhaps falling into rain is a lesson of sorts— To teach us that sometimes inanimate, inhuman Can animate us, awaken in us what is humane Crying away pain with Drops of So many drops of Undone tears
