Damon's influences are all clear in his productions which are elegant and seductive with emotional ambiences generated by his skills of manipulating digital synths and down tempo house cords and beats to bring complex multichords and dense yet fully melodic patches to contemporary deep house music. Going back to the early house days of '89 and the likes of voodoo right through the happy hardcore era he has been honing his skills and immersing himself in electronic music, now taking influence from some of the deep house genres greatest composers like Royksop, Thomas Shwartz, Boom Jinx, Tivo Howard and Jody Wisternoff. Although Damon Carter remains dedicated to Deephouse he is by no means a purist but is constantly striving to look beyond one's own nose, to shift frontiers and to go in depth. His compassion to the scene, devotion to music and his craft as a producer sets him in a standard that few will be able to accomplish.
