For it's first installment of the Soulfooled Detailed series, the Soulfooled gang welcomes backTerje Bakke who's previously lent his remixing talent to the Soulfooled catalog. This time around Terje's flexing his production muscles to serve up three deep new cuts on a slice of black plastic of his very own. Terje has been steadily making a name for himself in and around his native Norway since 2003, and at only 23 years old, he's not only crafted his own style of sound, but has seen the support his of tracks in charts and DJ sets from big names like Reboot, Sascha Dive and Lee Jones to name a few. Take your time. Lose yourself in the groove. Go a bit deeper. Terje's tracks are refreshingly unformulaic in today's never ending sea of kick in, kick out, hands in the air, standard techhouse tracks. Imagine the music as a living breathing thing - constantly in a state of subtle change. New elements fading in and out like sunrise and sunset. And so life goes on. The first cut "Mozell" is a gentle groover of warm chords, a nice track for early in the night in a DJ set, or perhaps at home."Orangina" grabs your attention quickly with a forward 4/4 beat but doesn't go where you might expect... instead it breaks into a full jazz theme complete with snare rolls, glossy cymbals and a jazzy piano groove. Up next is "Tango Orange", featuring a similar piano groove, but taken up a notch with some latin inspired hand clap percussion. Diving into a slightly melancholic break before going back to the groove, there's a wonderful feeling of deep emotions here, barely restrained beneath the surface.
