Following on from the release of his ‘Chase Road’ EP in January, Daktyl returns to Cosmonostro with a collection of remixes & reinterpretations of ‘Do Without’, the EP’s anthemic closer, crafted with love and dedication by fellow members of the Cosmo crew. Each artist takes the space-pop sound of the original and injects their own unique flavour, with diverse and rewarding results. Some opt to keep the high energy club-oriented vibes of the OG (see Krampf’s 90s house workout, or Maxx Baer’s disorienting glitched-out banger) whilst others switch down a gear and aim for a more laidback approach – Chief goes for a blunted head-nod affair, Grillz sculpts a mellowed out guitar jam with subtle touches of organic percussion, and Dave Luxe takes things into a half-time 2 step with plenty of swing and added cosmic vibes, backed by thundering subs keeping a steady driving rhythm.
