The trombonist/leader, his longtime trumpeter Pat Halcox and John Crocker (on clarinet and alto) form a potent frontline for spirited renditions of such numbers as "Royal Garden Blues," "Saratoga Swing," "Wild Cat Blues" and Johnny Hodges's "Sweet as Bear Meat."
