Campbell has always has good taste in songwriters and sidemen and his latest upholds this tradition, recruiting material from Paul Overstreet, Naomi Martin, and Billy Burnette, among others. Only a couple of ballads are given schmaltzy arrangements; for the most part the tracks chug along in mid-tempo, semi-rockabilly fashion. Best bets here are "Swimming Upstream, Ain't It Just Like Love" and (especially) the chorus-kicking title track. For "Love's Old Song," Campbell indulges in some jazzy, country-swing.
