Written and performed by native Arkansan Barrett Baber ARKANSAS "Get There From Here" is Baber and co-writer Kenny Lambs submission into the "Song of Arkansas" contest in 2014. The song was recorded at Haxton Road Studios in Bentonville Arkansas. Baber (the artist performing the song) was born in Little Rock and spent his formative years in the East Arkansas town of Marion. Attending Ouachita Baptist University and The University of Central Arkansas, Baber honed his voice and songwriting skill playing smokey bar rooms and frat houses from Arkadelphia, to Conway to Fayetteville. Working with songwriter Kenny Lamb, they hoped to capture more than a song on tape, but a feeling. Arkansas is such a wonderful place full of opportunity and promise. Both writers knew when they found the title "Get There From Here" they were on to something special. Both geographically, literally and figuratively the state offers anyone who either visits or decides to stay the opportunity to "get there from here". Deciding the "there" is up to the individual. One thing is for sure however, the writers of this catchy tune believe that no matter what that "there" is, it can be accomplished in the state they call home.
