"I Will Trust" is Tom's ninth album release. It features 12 new songs reflecting his faith, including the ballads "Without You," "Love of My Life" and "You Are." His son Liam, only 10 at the time, began recording and performing with him during the making of this album. He performed most of the bass guitar parts on the album, and sang most of the harmonies. His wife Becky also joined him on record for the first time, singing with him on "Love of My Life." You'll also hear Raleigh, his youngest son, shaking the tambourine on that song. "Precious in His Eyes" discourages suicide, while the James Taylor style song "Nothing Left to Lose" encourages not giving up in the pursuit of true love. "Jesus, Take Me," a mixture of reggae, blues and rock, was inspired by Bob Marley's last words, and is what Tom considers "a positive outlook on death." The album's journey closes out on the ocean, with the song "Anchor."
