Tu Vuo' Fa' L'Americano
Napoli (Naples)'s own musical hero, Renato Carosone (1920-2001) brought innovation to the rich musical tradition of his native town and was a seminal figure for Italian pop music. His collaboration with drummer Gegè Di Giacomo and Dutch guitarist Peter Van Wood led to the formation of a legendary trio; after the breakup of this formation, Carosone, always with Di Giacomo by his side, continued producing new music with a small orchestra. His song "Torero" reached no.1 in the US charts and was an international hit. The super-classic 1956 hit "Tu Vuo' Fa' l'Americano" (here newly remastered) sampled by Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP for the international hit "We No Speak Americano" topped charts again in several countries. Enjoy the original song, sung in Neapolitan!
