Daniel A. Velazquez began his musical excursion in 1950 at the tender age of seven as a member of The Velazquez Gospel Singers, a family group that toured throughout the United States for over ten years. His zeal for musical knowledge expanded to other forms e.g. Jazz, Classical, and Gospel Music. Just as Daniel’s musical interests expanded, so did his his proficiency in other instruments, i.e.: Cornet, Guitar, Organ and Piano. Daniel also possessed the uncanny ability to perform in multiple facets of the music industry as demonstrated in his directing multi-voice choirs, musicals, and other types of productions. In addition, he has performed as a studio musician, a singer on the Gospel TV Program, “Mensajes de Fe Ch 47 in NJ”, a back-up singer, and has recorded multiple projects. In 1977, Daniel collaborated on a Ralph Carmichael project in which he served as translator of gospel songs and hymns, written by multiple songwriters, into the Spanish language. One of these song writers was famed Gospel talent, Andrae Crouch. Daniel has also had the privilege of participating in collaborations with five-time academy award winning producer, composer, vocal coach, arranger, pianist, and vocal contractor, Kenny O'Brien on a 10 track compilation CD (9 of which were original compositions of Daniel's songs). Daniel is an extremely prolific songwriter and lyricist with over 125 songs to his credit, 4 of them Cantatas. Recordando, his newest album release, is his first personal release to the world. It is an evangelistic album which conveys the gospel of Jesus Christ. The title and single to the album, "Recordando", is Daniel's dedication not only to God but to his family's ministry since its commence in the 50's. The album with its unique and essential message for the world, has a variety of old-to-new themes and heartfelt sounds that communicates God's compassion and Daniel's passion for the lost souls and those of the faith.
