It has been eighty years since the end of World War II, yet people still continue to kill one another-not only in war, but in many other forms of violence. I keep wondering whether a world without hatred is truly impossible. Thomas More's Utopia is not exactly the kind of ideal society I have in mind, but the thought of creating a more peaceful world inspired me to compose this piece. In this song, the word "utopia" is used in its more general sense: a vision of an ideal society.
