Clave y Guaguanco - La Rumba que no termina- ( 60 Years anniversario) The legendary group Clave Y Guaguancó was founded in Havana 60 years ago and are dedicated to researching and developing the traditions of Afro-Cuban music. With roots style singing, drumming and dancing, they'll introduce you to the universe of gods, magic and African-rooted rituals. They play Yambú, Guaguancó, Columbias and Cuban carnival music as well as pure African music from Yoruba, Arará, Abakuá, Congo or Bantú. Since their origins up until the 80s the group maintained the original format. It was then that the director Amado de Jesús Dédeu, an experienced rumbero with a long career, took over the direction and decided to incorporate other elements, and increased the number of members with the objective to expand the sound of the group, without renouncing the original format and the original repertoire. Clave y Guaguancó were the first band to work on polyrythms, musical fusion, poems, and versions of different kinds of cuban and international music. For all, it has been neccesary work to enlarge the glossary of the complexity of Rumba with such names as Guanbatá , Bataguanlumbia, Guanpolirritmo, etc. For the 60 year aniversario the crème de la crème of the cuban music scene have come together to congratulate Clave y Guaguanco, and pay their tribute to the Rumba.
