I started toying with music from the age of 14, writing lyrics in them days, and well known for beat boxing!". I used to kick some heavy weight title beats with a couple of friends, dont ask me how but yeah I did it, although singing was never my forte. Anyway, at the age of 16 I was encouraged to take up music where I found my true passion and was pushed to my limits on my journey down the long road 2 success. Im still on that journey as I havent achieved all my goals YET!! But if i keep my head down with my fingers on the nobz! Ill be there shortly. So "watch this space". I was introduced to him in November 2007. If I had heard a dj playing his tracks in a club, I would have wanted to know immediately who the artist is. At 23 years old, WBEEZA is a prodigious young talent and a breath of fresh air on the scene. His roots are not in the typical House, Techno or international dance scene, but are rather in a very local London scene; the UK Garage and rave scene and the London Urban scene. Although not involved directly in this scene as an artist, this gives him a different starting point to most House and Techno producers. However, he was clearly moved by a House groove at some point as House is the touchstone of his music. Its the kick drum he says. Everything comes from the kick drum. Thats what Im searching for when Im beginning a track. Once Ive got that, then anything is possible. You can do anything on top of the right kick drum. Coming from a different starting place also meant that WBEEZA wasnt sure what kind of music he was making. He felt it was House but to him it didnt sound like the Funky House and Electro House he was hearing around him. Well, it isnt, thats for sure. Deep, grooving, already with an individual voice, and definitely kicking, both WBEEZA and I wanted to emphasize that this is London musiic. To us, this is THE HOUSE SOUND OF LONDON 2008.
