Miso 023 finds us back in the wonderful world of Charles Webster and Diviniti with the track, ‘Lonely’. On this third collaboration things get a little trackier and tougher on Charles' mixes, whilst still maintaining the deep and thoughtful vibe already established on ‘learning to love me’ and ‘be yourself’, his vocal mix starts off with a chunky beat topped off with liberal portions of strange sounds and deep chords all driven along by a seriously rolling bass, the arrangement builds from a simple stripped back groove to a richly textured and musical peak, then it suddenly drops back to it's original stripped back state, a very dynamic arrangement made complete by Diviniti’s beautifully emotive vocals, next, Charles delivers one of his trademark dubs, deep beats and a deeper bass line with the musical elements drifting nicely in and out of focus. On remix duties we welcome the great talent that is Cuebur ! Charles met Cuebur on his last trip to South Africa and the two producers hit it off straight away and promised to work together in the future (stay tuned), but we get the relationship off to a nice start with a pair of stunning remixes. Cuebur’s ‘spirit mix’ is a seductive, elegant beauty of a mix, with intricate African flavoured drum programming and very classy developing pads and instrumentation all combining with Diviniti’s vocal perfectly, then after the song has said it’s piece, the vocals start to loop and we are treated to a beautifully naïve Ocarina break…perfect, then to finish it all off properly his ‘spirit dub’ goes crazy with the deepness, stripping everything back to it’s raw elements.
