He was born in Havana and later lived in Mexico City and his trademarks were goatee, turtle-neck sweaters and vests. Perez "Prez" Prado carried the rhythm and sound of Mambo into the world. He was probably the most popular Latin Bandleader of the Nineteen Fifties who was even able to place Number One Hits in the charts of Germany. Perez's mambos stood out among the competition, with their fiery brass riffs and strong saxophone counterpoints, and most of all, Pérez's trademark grunts. All this can be heard on this new album - a "Must-Listen-To" for all lovers of Latin Rhythm. Enjoy and keep the memory alive.
