Our Italian family grows on the quest for the perfect groove, as Ricky Leo from Milan came across. The Ibiza-based DJ and producer provides us the vibe from the island within three tracks on the „Eivissenc EP“. By appearances on labels like Get Physical, Lapsus, Play Groove, Whoyostro, as well as collaborations e.g. with his buddy Luca Doobie and several residencies in the Italian underground clubscene, he gained experience for a relentless and powerful groovin’ floor. All three tunes approach a similar vibe, so these ones are standing for themself without any remix and catching the warm smell of Eivissa with sand in the toes, wind in the hair and sweat on the skin. „Pendular“ aims at the middle of the floor with a subconsciously hypnotizing tense. Merging rhythmics and melting elements create a restless mood, topped by a sizzling whisper. „Es Muntar“ follows up as a decently composed work. Slightly more dramatic, it contains far-verbed vocals, a little dose of glitch placed in the drum pattern, which makes it subtly driven. The „Eivissenc“ (Catalan local language) track spreads with soft cracklings, windy halls and snappy voice cuts, layered on a great rollin’ percussion arrangement - reflecting an authentic island feeling.
