Jan Driver. A man, a legend. On the circuit since 1993 he's been involved in the development and evolution of the German electronic music scene since early, starting his production career on labels like Formaldehyd and Tarcat Rec., followed by an endless string of releases including output on prolific labels like his former Grand Petrol Records, Boysnoize Records, Arms & Legs and many more. Now launching his new platform ELEPHUT for 2018 Jan Driver is back with a massive single release that will cater the needs of both bigroom audiences as well as underground dancefloors. With the title track „Dry Aged“ we see Jan Driver serve a raw and rugged, hypnotic fusion of contemporary TechHouse and ElectroHouse elements, focusing on an intentionally unpolished, slightly metallic sound aesthetic and carefully filtered breakdowns for a maximum dancefloor impact. On a remix tip for „Dry Aged“ is Hectic Johnson, turning the original tune's aesthetics fully around whilst adding a heavy, compressed punch, shuffled hi-hats and a spiralling, ever filtered motif that provides a hypnotic, slightly more discoid approach whilst carefully set synth tones emulate heavily reprocessed plucked guitar strings to a great effect. The second remix for „Dry Aged“ comes straight from the studios of Daniel Steinberg. The prolific producer and Arms & Legs head honcho focuses on a high energy vibe, catering a well funky, organic bassline with a hint of jack, carefully filtered vocal echoes and heaploads of energy for ultimate primetime abuse. Finally Jan Driver weighs in „Herg“, his second original tune on this release. With electroid snares, eerie atmospheres and heavily morphed and well twisted basslines this one is about to stand the test of time for sure, being a secret weapon for all big room DJ's on the circuit willing to join the dark side of the force for more than one reason.
