Established in 2013, SpeakerBox was born from the drive of musicians, singers and producers from the New Orleans music scene; each of whom has had the privilege of accompanying a host of major industry artists, as well as opportunities to play on local, national and international stages. These talented individuals—though each was successful in their respective careers—came together through founder, Nick Mercadel, to combine their creativity, ideas, and musicality with a single goal: to produce enjoyable music! SpeakerBox brings together the musical styles of writer, producer/composer, singer/songwriter and drummer Nick Mercadel; keyboardist, songwriter, producer/composer Jason Hodge; singer, producer/composer and keyboardist Marcus Doucette; singer/songwriter Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph and drummer Lemuel “Lem” Clark. The band’s collective talent enables them to write, compose and produce all of their own material to transcend genre boundaries; fusing Pop, Soul, Rock and R&B to create a sound that is genuinely theirs. With a debut album scheduled to be released in the beginning of 2014, SpeakerBox will to appeal to a vast array of audiences through a well-rounded record. In addition to the album release, future plans include shows, appearances and tours that will showcase and display their God-given talents abroad.
