This album has been a long time coming. From national success following the Star Riot with appearances on Countdown, AC/DC's Back in Black tour support, relentless touring and healthy record sales, it all fell in a heap for the usual rock reasons. We all went our separate ways, but over time gravitated back together for the odd reunion gig. Whenever we played a Heroes gig, the response from fans reminded us that we were still a pretty good band. We’d make noises about doing something more, but that’s as far as it went. Then following the huge 2014 Oz Day gig at the Wicko, we started talking seriously about it. After rummaging through a bunch of material left over from back when, we found a few tracks that we figured still worked. Pete and Mark brought along some more recent tunes and before long we had a dozen tracks we thought worthwhile recording. The recording process wasn’t all that different to the first album except that there was a lot less alcohol and a bit more discipline. The song writers had a pretty clear idea of what they wanted, then everyone put in their two bob’s worth to create the final tracks and there ya go – a Heroes album. This noise we make together came out of the Clinker Tavern, The Castle, The Ambassador, Souths, Stewo’s, The Sulphide, the Bel Air, the Star Hotel and countless other gigs in Newie and up and down the East Coast. It was honed in an era when live music was king; gigs were plentiful, punters were appreciative, the money was good, petrol was cheap and loud was normal. We were blessed to be there. Now this is where we are. So far.
