Saxophonist Kevin Pike has recorded an album of classical works by famous composers such as Bach, Beethoven and Debussy. Kevin's warm tone and lyrical approach create an interpretation of these works that is modern in sound, yet traditional in presentation. On tracks 2-10, he is accompanied by bassist Adam Johnson, who composed these unique arrangements for alto saxophone and acoustic bass guitar. Tracks 1 and 11 feature Kevin on alto saxophone and baritone saxophone. If you think "classical saxophone" is an oxymoron, then this album is a great introduction to the world of classical saxophone.
