Chandra Lacombe, brazilian multi-instrumentist, singer and composer, has a rich musical background. At early age, as his taste for music developped, he was attracted to the Samba schools of Rio de Janeiro, playing percussion. As Afrobrasilian percussionist he later accompanyed different groups in Brasil, from the Samba and folk tunes, via mantric, instrumental and fusion music of many kinds. But it was the meeting and falling in love with the kalimba, that would further shape the musician Chandra. Kalimba is an African Melodic Percussion instrument, which he masters with refined talents. Chandra is one of the worlds foremost kalimba players, having developped his own technique and style. His creativity as composer is vast. He has channeled hymnes from the forest of the Amazonas, created his own Musical Oracle, integrated his connection to India and yoga by bringing mantras to the popular scene, for instance through the famous Brasilian band Udyiana Bandha, Carioca Trio, Edouardo Agni, Luz da Azia and others, in Brazil and abroad. His high voice seems to bear a certain healing ability and chanting becomes one of the terapeutic techniques he endeavors.
