Dancing in the Garden of Light
In his debut release, composer Michael Levanios explores a landscape of people and places that he loves. Michael's sensitive interweaving of virtual instruments with traditional acoustic instruments yields a warm sound of astonishing depth and humanity. His gift for compelling melody and rhythm runs the gamut of emotions, foremost of which is joy and irrepressible love for his friends and surroundings. With "Dancing in the Garden of Light" Levanios paints portraits of moments, states of mind, and places in the heart. His palette blends elements of jazz and folk, sometimes reaching full symphonic proportions. Whether intimate and ballad-like or epic and heroic, Levanios' music traces a far-ranging journey whose ultimate message is one of celebration and personal triumph. Musicians: Ron Kerber, saxophones, clarinet and flute; Rick Kerber, flugelhorn; Ray Legnini, acoustic and electric guitars; Dorothy Stone, English Horn; Mark Henkels, soprano saxophone; Jef Lee Johnson, fretless bass, and nylon string guitar. Mixed and mastered by grammy winning engineer Glenn Barratt. "Dancing in the Garden of light " was originally released in 1994.
