Richard Morrison has been, from a very early age, surrounded by music & song. His father is the distinguished Scottish baritone, Peter Morrison; his mother, Irene, a former professional singer; his sister, Jackie, is an actress and singer; and his wife, Hannah, a soprano. With such an upbringing, it is indeed appropriate that this collection should be entitled “Songs Of My Home” as it contains many of the songs of his native Scotland that he would have absorbed in his family environment. Sir Walter Scott wrote, "Breathes there the man with soul so dead, who never to himself has said, `This is my own, my native land!`". Richard Morrison may travel far in his occupation as a leading voice in opera but Corban Recordings is proud to have this young man deliver these songs & ballads to the enhancement of Scotland's musical reputation.
