Ashford is the Toronto based Pop duo of Christopher Guglick and Samantha Hooey whose music is an infectious blend of danceable beats, catchy hooks and pop harmonies. Both Samantha and Christopher bring unique backgrounds to their music. Samantha, a folk singer/songwriter, expresses herself through her honest lyrics and passion for life and also brings with her the experience of a winning battle with cancer in 2010. Christopher, a composer and music producer who writes music for film and has written music for Canadian cult director Bruce McDonald among others, brings his experiences and challenges growing up as an openly gay youth in rural Ontario. It is this union of two worlds of experience where Ashford was formed. Samantha and Christopher came together in 2011 to create music that expresses a positive message to the world, hoping to inspire people with their truthful songs while also getting them out on the dance floor. It is their hope that in a world where everyone is constantly bombarded with negative messages, their contagious positivity can be a breath of fresh air.
