Otis Redding's Road Band (A Tributre to Otis) [feat. Jimmy Wess]
Hailing basically from Baltimore, Maryland, the Upsetters consisted of Lee Foy on Saxophone, Barry Sachs on Guitar, Harry Hoehn on Trumpet, Howard Ridgley on Bass, Danny O'Day on Drums and John F. Baseman on Organ. The vocal spotlight is reserved for Jimmy Wess. The Upsetters dedicated these songs to the super talents of the late and great Otis Redding. The group played behind Otis while he was touring the States during one nighters and concerts. Jimmy Wess sings the following hits which Otis orbited to stardom -- "Dock of The Bay," "Respect," "Satisfaction" and "Can't Turn You Loose." The other sounds in the album all feature the Memphis sound. The Upsetters had a tremendous following of their own. They appeared in all the major cities on the East Coast. The original album was conceived, arranged and produced by the multi-talented John Madara. Lend an ear and spend an exciting half hour adventure in sound as you listen to the amazing Upsetters. If you like to dance, you'll love this CD.
