With a sound steeped in the sunlit tones of Laurel Canyon, the mid 60's pop and R&B of the Brill Building, and the lo-fi synths of early prog rock, former Rhye keyboardist Steve Taylor makes moody, cinematic pop music that pushes the boundaries of the psych folk genre. A multi-instrumentalist with a surprisingly diverse resume, he’s ready to step out on his own with the July 2015 release of “The Land of Milk and Honey” a lush, impressionistic record harkening back to the days of Crosby, Stills and Nash, Nick Drake, and Simon and Garfunkel. Layering acoustic guitars, analog synthesizers, vintage organs, and dead drums, he creates a sound that's both modern and thoroughly informed by 70's AM rock.
