Princess Charming
"Princess Charming" is based on my real life experience working in a record store in the 90's. (We were not selling vinyl at that time....only CD's and cassette tapes, but record store is the proper terminology.) I was single at the time and hoping to meet someone special. As it turned out, I did meet that special someone, although it was not someone that walked through the doors of the record store. As I recall, I never performed this song with a full band, but in an acoustic duo or solo setting. I'm not sure why I didn't include this song on my Living In Dakin's Neighborhood album, but in retrospect, I'm glad I didn't, as several years later I added the bridge. The original version of the song only had the harmonica break. I considered putting this song out on my next album, but opted for doing a single. It may end up someday on an album of mine. I actually have two versions of this song...let's just say the other version of it has a different rhythm to it. Maybe I'll end up doing that version or a full band version. Who knows?.........Anyway, this version is very simple,.....a 12 string acoustic guitar, harmonica, and vocals. I wanted to keep a coffee shop feel to it. My lovely wife, Lauren Lottinger, helped out with the backing vocals.
