Go Uncle John (Honky Tonk Version)

Go Uncle John (Honky Tonk Version)

Once in a while an artist comes along who is able to combine musical genres to create a new sound as unique as the cowboy hat he wears. Country singer Joey Sontz is such an artist. By blending the voice of Broadway with the homespun sounds of Classic Country he has created his own style. A voice that Music News Nashville calls “unique” and “stage-worthy” with a charming vibrato. In the November 2016 issue of Country Entertainment USA-Nashville, Joey's voice and style was called “polished” and “smooth” creating his own brand of solid country music. The positive reviews keep coming in with Country Music News International describing him as a “gifted entertainer” with an “incredibly beautiful” voice that is following the road the entertainment world is taking him on. Joey is excited to announce his latest single, “Go Uncle John” Honky Tonk Version has just been released by Dynasty Records. The song recorded in Nashville, holds a special place in his heart. Joey explains, “I always envisioned this song being performed in a good-old honky tonk by either Patsy Cline or the great Loretta Lynn, so when we were getting ready to put out the single, I said let's put it in one; so we did.” The song takes you magically back to the golden days of the Nashville-Honky Tonk. It transports you to a time when Country Stars were truly made over-night and it all began with a song. This exciting upbeat Classic Country Single has been making waves on the European Country Chart and earning airplay around the world including on the BBC as well as various Country Programs in the USA, United Kingdom, Ireland, and beyond. He has been attracting a world-wide audience with his remarkable voice and gathering fans from countries all around the globe. Joey says, “I sing for the fans and without my audience I wouldn't be who I am today, so I am ever humble and thankful.” Joey is no stranger to the world of entertainment as his mother was a professional singer in the Big Band era. He readily credits the encouragement and support of his family as he pursued his creative dreams. He believes country music is all about family and the love or heartbreak we find along the way. Possessing an impressive 3.5 Octave range, singing always came naturally to Joey. Growing up, he was exposed to everything from Broadway to Opera to Classical to Country. Joey's first love, however, remains country music. Joey says, “It feels like coming home when I sing country--the words, the meanings, and the style just fit. If a song can touch people's hearts, then I have done my job right.” He certainly has found a place to call home in country music with the love and support of countless fans that have made his music part of their life's journey. His resume reads a bit like a Hollywood Saga with an acting-musical career that started when he was just 13 years old and has continued strong ever since. His credits include television, telethons, benefits, and musicals. If there was a stage in front of him, he was on it. He appeared with the NYC Opera Co. and performed at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall while taking classes at the Juilliard School. Joey has an active acting career as well and has appeared in more than 100 films and television shows including a recurring role on the daytime soap opera Another World, Sex and the City, Law & Order, ED, and loved portraying an adorable elf on the Christmas episode of 30 Rock for NBC. A highlight of his extensive film work was dancing alongside Movie Legend Meryl Streep in the Oscar- nominated Julie & Julia, which has become one of his personal favorites. In 2012, Joey released his debut album, “Chasing the Dream” which not only opened doors for him but got him a distribution deal that helped propel his career to the next level of the country music world. His very first single, “Unanswered Prayers,” released through HMG Nashville, reached #67 on the Inspirational Country Chart. Joey was starting to make strides leading to his first Nashville project, “It All Begins With A Song” last year and now his newest single, “Go Uncle John” Honky Tonk Version that is destined to become a true Country Classic. Joey knows the road to success in country music isn't an easy journey, but at the same time he knows there isn't any place he would rather be than on the stage performing, sharing his passion, his music and his talent. Joey loves an audience and audiences love to hear him sing. The future definitely seems bright for this rising country singer who knows in his heart that everything really does begin with a song.
