Long Slow Train Out of Town
Nashville artist Jeff Dayton is not only a busy guitarist in the studios and stages of Music City, but tours all over the USA supporting his records as well as acting on hit TV shows like "Nashville" and "Hawaii Five-O." He's written songs for George Strait, Sarah Darling and zydeco Grammy winner Chubby Carrier and toured with Kenny Chesney, Lee Greenwood, Tammy Cochran and fifteen years as bandleader for Hall of Fame great Glen Campbell. Dayton's newest single, "Long Slow Train Out of Town," is his way of honoring his deep respect and friendship with his former mentor. Whether he's producing up and coming artists or legends like Buck Owens, Dayton is actually most excited when he's on a new song. He's a pencil & paper writer and saves the computer for later in the process. His songs are classic and current at the same time. He's a huge fan of writers like Bob McDill, Sonny Throckmorton, John Mayer, Allen Shamblin and Casey Beathard. Jeff calls it "say it and get out of the way" and that shows in his own lyrics. He's often compared with Chesney and Campbell, both of whom added a great deal to Jeff's bag of skills. "I'd love to be known as a writer, singer and player, all three. The guys I admire most are like that; Jerry Reed, Hendrix, Clapton, Roger Miller, Glen Campbell, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, those kind of triple threats." More info at www.jeffdaytonmusic.com
