In October of 2014, the Mayor of Houston subpoenaed Pastors throughout the city to present their sermons for review and scrutiny. The churches in the city beautifully united in such a powerful way to stand on the Word of God and the calling of Pastors to speak the Truth. I specifically remember the Sunday following these events when our Pastor, Gregg Matte, stood before our church and shared how we would respond. He declared the church’s attitude and stance should not reflect the world actions, but rather the church should do what it has always been called to do throughout history: kneel in prayer, stand in truth, and walk in love. This anchor of truth is what connects us to all followers of Christ from every tribe and nation around the world, as well as every generation from all time, as together we are the people of the church. This collection of songs has been birthed out of the hearts and lives of the people from Houston’s First and the MultiGenerational emphasis we hold so dear. It is our prayer and desire that these songs will encourage your walk, strengthen your faith, enlighten your understanding of scripture, and expand your worship and love for our Savior, Jesus Christ. “One generation commends Your works to another; they tell of Your mighty acts.
