Barry and Karen's Jazzy Christmas record is about warmth, heart felt soul and quality musicianship. This project has been in the hearts of this musical couple for many years now. Karen whose smooth vocals are featured throughout the CD has always felt that although there were many Christmas CDs released every year there were only a handful that captured both the Christmas message as well as the Holiday spirit represented by popular American Christmas songs loved by people all over the world. So she and her producer husband Barry set out to create what they hope will be a memorable, warm and heart felt Christmas record that will capture all the Jazzy fun Holiday tunes as well as the traditional Christmas message about the hope found in the Christmas message of Jesus Christ. You can see this reflected in tracks like "O Holy Night" where "you can almost feel the atmosphere fill up with the sounds of heaven " says album producer Barry Stoffberg. He recommends that 'O Holy Night" be played at full volume to feel the heavenly presence come alive. From the first track "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" which features Barry on the keys and which also sports a contemporary Jazz feel to the more traditional Holiday Jazz track "Let it Snow" those memorable Holiday sounds definitely come through. This CD is unique in this way in that it doubles as both a perfect Jazzy background music CD which can be played while decorating the Christmas tree, casually sipping eggnog in the lounge or hanging with family, and a inspirational Christmas caroling CD perfectly mixed with just enough warm strings, pleasant reverbs and Spirit to help connect the listener to the hope of the Christmas message hopefully the presence of God.
