Jake's music has been referred to as "Old School Soul". He loves this description since he has been influenced by many incredible and legendary artists such as, Stevie Wonder, Steve Perry, Michael Jackson and Sam Cooke. He reaches his audience through his soulful singing style on stage as well as his craftsmanship as a singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and producer in the studio. All of Jake's music starts first with the "vibe" of the song which in his opinion is the most important ingredient to create the mood of the song, then with mostly "old school" studio equipment like analog tape, he produces a sound scape reminiscent of the great studios of the 60's and 70's he so idolizes. Jake tries to be as real as possible, using non-programmed instruments played by himself and others to create this sound scape. If you like to "vibe" you will love Jake's music!
