October Morn
This song was inspired and based on my hometown (Collinsville, IL) although I took a few artistic liberties with it. It came to me in a dream. It was originally a simple acoustic folk song, but when I went into the studio I started playing around with my GnL S-500 electric guitar and liked the sound of it. The leads were inspired by 60's garage rock type bands. Lyrics: October Morn Outside of the health club there's a field of corn tall brown stalks a swaying on this drizzly October morn down the road there's a highway that never seems to end your mind tends to wander cause your heart is on the mend October morn October morn you want to be reborn October Morn Cruising in your car leaves are falling from the trees look for life direction speak up if you please when you get to Main Street the traffic's kind of slow sitting at the stop light the sun begins to show October morn October morn you want to be reborn October Morn See a little building it houses a liquor store the old man that works there fought in the Vietnam war Italian immigrants they are playing bocce ball in the Legion field of these early days of fall October morn October morn you want to be reborn October Morn Feel like an outsider you fell like you are torn driving through your old hometown on a sweet October morn stop by the old house to see your Mom and Dad greeted with an apple pie well maybe it's not so bad October morn October morn you are reborn October Morn October morn October morn you are reborn October Morn ©2014 Fred W Clark/Surfmonk Music (ASCAP)
