JAZZ CLUB is a soulful fusion of musical minds and journeys founded by jazz pianist Sunnie Paxson, guitarist Mark Vincent and vocalist Cynthia Calhoun. Their music is a blend of Jazz and R&B. They have creatively collaborated as a writing/production team (SunMark Music) for many years. Their music is heard on TV, film and various special projects. Now they have added a new dimension of radio airplay to their credits. With the spirit of the holiday season in the air JAZZ CLUB has seized the moment to share the message within their debut song Holiday Time of Year. “Spreading peace and joy far and near-loving wishes for the coming year!” SUNNIE PAXSON is an innovative contemporary jazz pianist, composer, producer and performer. She is known for her driving performances and memorable melodies. A native of Philadelphia, Paxson was a child piano prodigy from a musical family. She attended Berklee College of Music and the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts. In the past, she has toured with Stanley Clarke and shared the stage with many jazz greats. Her compositions and performances can be heard in feature films and television. Paxson achieved significant domestic and international success with her debut solo album, Groove Suite, which contained the feel-good singles “Do It (‘Til You’re Satisfied)” and “The Stroll” with special guest Larry Carlton. Jazz Week listed Sunnie amongst the top 100 Artists receiving the most spins during the peak run of Groove Suite and she was as voted one of Los Angeles’ Best Jazz Performers in Los Angeles Magazine. Her “Bohemian Sun” CD ,released on Stanley Clarke’s Roxboro Entertainment label and recorded with Stanley Clarke and Ronald Brunner, Jr is show of her solid jazz roots. “Give a listen to Sunnie Paxson. She has recorded and toured with me and she has an extensive knowledge of music.” ~ Stanley Clarke MARK VINCENT is an accomplished LA studio guitarist, composer & producer. To his credit, he has recorded & performed with a wide variety of renowned artists such as Melissa Etheridge, Stanley Clarke, Randy Crawford, The 5th Dimension, Dionne Warwick, Michael Sembello, Wayne Newton, and Dianne Shuur. Mark is known for his cutting edge style and has been called upon to play in many different musical genres, lending itself perfectly to a unique blend of Contemporary Jazz, R&B and Latin. It was almost inevitable that Mark would follow a musical path being the son of Film & TV Composer, and Arranger Don Vincent. Don is also known for his long career as Wayne Newton’s Musical Director. From early on, Mark had been exposed to some of the finest musicians right from back stage, as he would regularly accompany his father to his performances. As a Composer, Arranger & Producer, Mark has created music for television networks such as NBC, ABC, CBS & Fox, as well as commercials and feature films. In addition, Mark is also an established professional engineer and owner of MJV Recording Studios located in Toluca Lake, CA. CYNTHIA CALHOUN is multi dimensional singer, songwriter, vocal arranger and actress appearing in feature films, television and stage. Cynthia has performed and recorded with legendary artists such Al Jarreau with whom she shared a solo spotlight on tour, pop superstar Gloria Estefan, Jon Secada, soul great Betty Wright, Paul Simon, the late Barry White, Boz Scaggs, Julian Marley, and Steely Dan, including a solo on Dirty Work for whom she also provided background vocals on their 4X Grammy Award winning Two Against Nature. Cynthia was also prominently featured in the Two Against Nature Steely Dan’s Plush TV Jazz-Rock Party DVD From early on Cynthia was entrenched in the soulful sounds of her church’s music, which ignited her passion for singing! She received her formal education at Florida State University. With a voice that has been described as “soulfully powerful and beautifully melodic”, singer/songwriter Cynthia Calhoun has the unique ability to express her emotional essence through song. This gift allows her to connect with the audience on a very intimate and fundamental level, figuratively inviting the audience to join her on stage.
