There is a lot to take in with the blend of folk and noise that this album suggests. Though inherently acoustic, the use of electric instruments brings new light to this relatively uncharted genre. Make sure not to miss out on the spoken word piece, melding suspenseful electric edits with a poem describing the intense and confusing transition of moving into the city. Another highlight off of the album, "When You're Blasted" comes in two forms: an off-the-cuff ballad starting the record with verve and an earlier alternate version ending the record bringing us back to the days of transistor radios. One can only hope for more from this emerging style with fast stream of consciousness lyrics, memorable sing-song melodies, and enough feedback to sustain even La Monte Young.
