Christmas With the King
John Lee Sanders, Composer, Blues, Gospel and Pop artist, winner of 3 Canadian Music awards, and nominated for Emmys, Grammys, and a WC Handy Blues award nomination for song of the year. He met Elvis and his folks in Memphis in 1957, when Presley bought his first house a few doors down from John Lee's Aunt and Uncle. Gladys and Vernon Presley took little John Lee in for a tour of the house, and sent him on his way, inspired that a boy could grow up to be President or a Rock star. This story shows the true spirit of Christmas, that we are blessed more fully when we give back to the poor, and downhearted. Elvis was such a generous person, this song is an imaginary story of one fateful night.
