Here is a couple who have surmounted the almost impossible task of living and working together. (Personal experience tells me, it ain’t easy). They do so with great joy and harmony. The music is fun and exuberant, touching and sweet, and a pure example of who Barbara and Al are together; happily married! Rebecca Parris I’ve known Al and Barb for twelve years or so years and they’ve been a delight to work with. Al has a strong swing feel and Barb has her very own meaningful voice quality. Clubs (we’ve played) such as The Studio, Captain Carlos, Stripers, and Marco Polo lean towards the quality of a down home jam session. Thanks folks, Love, Dick Johnson A specialty on the stage aids the process of drawing fans into the room. Barbara and Al have found their niche in vocal duets, and over the ten years of their marriage, have amassed a number of them, eight of which are featured on “He Sings, She Sings.” The duets are swinging and happy - this is the kind of music that makes you feel good. Two great sidemen complete the band. Jack Senier and Mark Carlsen are not only ten year band members but also close personal friends who always provide a good solid ride. Dick Johnson's addition to this CD is a blessing to the band. This legendary clarinet and alto sax man was hand-picked by Artie Shaw to take over his big band in the late 80's. Dick is an amazingly talented musician who lives and breathes his art. You WILL enjoy this CD.
