Jen Bulik-Lang was diagnosed with lung cancer in January 2013. She married Jeff Lang on July 27, 2013. I first read Jen's story on Yahoo! News two days after their wedding, and I felt like God placed her on my heart. I kept her in my prayers. On the day that she passed away, on October 10, 2013, I wrote this special song for her. Jeremy Cays, a talented local recording engineer, producer and pianist, generously and graciously agreed to co-produce the song at no charge. This enabled "Jen's Song" to have the production and instrumentation that it deserved! Jeremy co-wrote the music of the final version, and contributed piano, drums and a beautiful string arrangement. My acoustic guitar, bass guitar and vocal tracks were recorded in my home, with Jeremy's remaining tracks overdubbed at his studio, Cays Productions. I'm honored and blessed to be able to pay tribute to Jen with this special song. May it touch people's lives, as Jen did.
