SUMI's music concocts an interesting mix of pop, electronic and orchestral styles combining lyrics in both Japanese and English. SUMI, originally from Japan, moved to the US in 2004. Growing up in Japan, she was immersed in music from a young age playing piano & flute. After graduating from the University of Buffalo in 2008, she moved to New York City to work in the fashion industry. Simultaneous to her career in fashion, SUMI also began pursuing a career in music writing and co-producing her own songs. In 2013 SUMI began working together with electronic & pop producer, Samir Zarif (paxhumanamusic.com). Since the start of their work together, they have produced several songs that will be released this year (2014).
