My Command
Holiday are the songs and the song are Holiday; they grow and evolve together and twins, and frontmen, Nick & Steve W of NYC, have taken the next step away from a solely acoustic songwriting duo up to the lofty realm of Indie/rock and indie/pop. Steve's dynamic vocal performances emote electrically intuitive ( and sometimes heartbreaking ) lyrics that fuel the fire for Nicks "whirly", "drivey", delay-packed leads that only further this emotional onslaught. Because of their history as a coffee shop duo, they know how to truly connect with and move an audience in simpler ways while maintaining the energy we've come to expect from a live show. The brothers pride themselves on their ability to give the audience the singer-songwriter experience as well as the better aspects of a full band; not excluding catchy leads, crafty guitar riffs, moving builds, sudden drops and passionate vocals, in one tightly built package. Nick and Steve's performance has been influenced by a wildly assorted collection of great musicians, from the delicate acoustics of Damien Rice to the stadium sized rock of Coldplay. When it comes to composition they have studied from the best of all worlds, from the alternative folk of The Tallest Man on Earth and the alternative rock of the Smashing Pumpkins, to the pop of John Mayer and pop rock of Matchbox-20.Thanks to their eclectic palettes they are able to bridge the gap between catchy pop music and underground rock.
