Johnny Jones has always wrote and performed country music but just a few years ago he took out the drinking and the cheating and added Jesus to the equation. When he did that, he's found a little more success with his music and everyone says he's never sounded better. "Someday Things Are Gonna Get Better" CD is the first album Jones has recorded in Nashville and with some very high profile musicians to boot. Gerald Smith, known as the Georgia Quacker from the Hee Haw TV show oversees the goings on as the producer. Of course Gerald is a great writer and singer himself. Johnny plays a lot of harmonica on most these tracks but he does step aside at times for the steel, piano, mandolin and dobro to shine. Eight songs on this CD that everyone should be able to relate to and want to hear over and over. Johnny tells how hard the Devil works in the first song and how a young talented kid impressed him so much, he wrote a song about him. The kid happens to be a rising star by the name of Isaac Cole. "You Can't Point" is a song idea Jones has had for years after listening to a radio preacher and "Someday Things Are Gonna Get Better" is hope for everyone and a song he wrote with Cindy Hughlett that made the top ten Cashbox Chart. "Garden of Love" is a favorite of many from an earlier CD and Johnny wanted to record it again and give it a more Nashville sound. This song was co-written by Marvin Gwin. "In the Sweet By and BY" a public domain song and a favorite of many folks will be one of the unforgettable tracks on this collection as it has a way of jumping out at you and making us feel like we're in church. "Burning With Love" tells how much the singer loves the old hymns and the Lord. A couple are on their honey moon as "The Morning After" opens and describes a couple very much in love with one another. The third verse has the singer stating the reality, that someday one of them are going to die, leaving the other behind but will be reunited at the big wedding when the Lord comes for His bride.
