Hard to Hold
An autobiographical "mash-up" of relentless artistic pursuit, passion, romance and dreams... A song first penned when I crash landed west, at my then girlfriend's "submarine pad". Since then, the song has been road tested across country and back, adding to its appeal. A chance opportunity brought this song into a world class studio, finally getting the treatment that it deserves. This quartet of musicians are some of the finest I have had the pleasure to work with. These cats can slam it down on the day, with one rehearsal. In fact, that's just what we did. Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland on the electric F bass, Craig Strain. "Riff, glorious." Holding down the thunder and releasing the beats, the extraordinary Issah Contractor on Drum Kit. Laying down a searing solo that delivers on the dubstep inspired break, Toronto's multi-award winning, iconic trumpet player of Guru's Jazzmatazz fame- Brownman Ali The song was recorded live at The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC by Adam Greenholtz. Additional recording at Euphonic Sound, Toronto, ON by Brianne Carey. Mastering was done at CPS by Brock MacFarlane in the haunted, old Little Mountain Studio. Many thanks to everyone who helped bring this dream to life! Peace, Love and "Joy on the Landing". - SK
