" Back to the Roots " by Steve Gordon is a return to the fundamental sounds and feel of music he grew up on, living in the Midwest. Emotional melodies, groove laden beats, accomplished guitar and harmonica licks all meld to form a memorable listening experience. All tracks were recorded by real-time performance, then overdubbed with additional tracks. No midi, no sequencing. Included on the record is the track, " Most Wonderful", which features his late Father, legendary harmonica virtuoso Eddie Gordon, playing diatonic and bass harmonica. Steve is a multi-instrumentalist and singer, and performs all vocals on the record, as well as acoustic and electric guitars, lap steel guitar, banjo, keyboards, bass, drums, and diatonic & chromatic harmonicas.
