It's been a while since we last added a new talent to the connaisseur roster. After mainly having worked off Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Chymera album extracts with the last releases, we proudly kick-off 2013 with Leipzig's Lake People. This signing feels a bit like a déjà vu. When we dropped the first Kollektiv Turmstrasse release in 2007, similar signs were afoot: A certain hype-level combined with a pretty successful release before ours - being a bit superstitious doesn't hurt, does it? Lake People brings qualities to the Connaisseur family which really fit to our understanding of music. A distinctive feeling for emotional music and an infatuation for details. We definitely have the feeling that Lake People could grow the same way KT did. After several releases on labels like Musik gewinnt Freunde, URSL or Krakatau, Lake People has now delivered two blueprint tracks for Connaisseur representing his fine feeling for music. The release is rounded up by two extraordinary remixes by another young gun - the russian artist Ghostek. His straight interpretation is a Midland-ish sort of melodic Techno / Dubstep-Hybrid, whereas his second version is a perfect b2 tune with clever beats and alluring melodies.
