In 1999, singer/songwriter Palky and bass player Lee Chilarski wanted to start a new band in the aftermath of their band Fairweather disbanding. Lee knew a drummer named Dan Seymour through friends of friends (this is known as "living in Adelaide") and the 3 started to write songs together. The 3 piece power pop LaRusso started to make rumblings on the Adelaide scene straight away. They entered numerous Battle of the Bands and won many heats and were named UniSA Battle of the Band Winners in 2000. Their mix of loud fast acoustic music tied with quirky and humourous songs won them a loyal following. In 2002, Lee left the band and was replaced by a couple of different bass players, none that really worked out. Dan and Palky went on as a 2 piece and it was in this form that saw them support Sarah Blasko on her first Australian tour. In 2004, LaRusso parted ways, having played a lot of great gigs and sharing their strange little pops songs with those who followed the band. The band produced a few demos that received radio airplay but they never recorded an EP or album. Dan went on to play with a number of great SA bands including but no limited to Heather Frahn, The Borderers and Akoustic Odyssey. Palky went on to record a couple of EPs and an album that have been played on community radio all over Australia. Palky and Dan have performed together in a couple of bands over the years for launches of Palky's albums. In 2013, Palky and Dan once again performed together in Palky and the Surrenderers epic Adelaide Fringe tribute show to Ben Lee "I Wish I Was Him". It was decided in late 2013, that LaRusso should reform to produce a "Greatest Hits" album of all of the great LaRusso songs. Lee was unable to take his role as the bass player of LaRusso - so Dylan Crawford has joined the band along with Tim Moors on keys. So all you need to know is ... LaRusso are back!
