The Edge of America
Georgia singer/songwriter Thomas Oliver’s music is straight from the rich heritage of Southern music: the roots of Americana and classic country. Thomas’ sound has been compared to Alan Jackson as well as Dwight Yoakam. He particularly likes the comparisons to Hank Williams Sr. After a lifetime in Atlanta, Thomas left his job in the city of his birth and settled on Tybee Island off the coast of Georgia. There, on the edge of America, he let the salt marsh, tidal creeks and ocean breezes do their magic. “The Edge of America” is the result – melodies in the tradition of real country music, with its natural mixture of folk and blues. Stories with timeless themes told simply. Nothing fancy here. These songs are about the lost and found – the loves we had, the loves we threw away and the loves we’ve been given. It’s about home and family. Finally, “The Edge of America” is about place. Places we’ve been, places we are in and places we miss.
