Southern Hospitality
Southern Hospitality: 1) Southern Truth 2) Let's Talk About It (Extended Version) 3) Why Must I Feel Alone? 4). Let's Talk About It (Radio Edit) 5). Why Must I Feel Alone (Instrumental) ‘Southern Hospitality’ as the EP's title is because of the artist's southern background, born September 14th and raised in the small town of Taylor, Texas. His grandparent's Anthony & Emma White were a minister and missionary and raised Jimmy Roland through the age of twelve years. Just prior to age thirteen, Jimmy relocated to Los Angeles to be with his birth mother. It was after arriving in Los Angeles that Jimmy Roland realized that being in show business as a musical artist and whatever else he'd discover he could do, was his destiny. In the years that followed the relocating to California, a few of Jimmy Roland's accomplishments include being invited as a supporting vocalist into the Gospel group The Delegates, who appeared on the first televised McDonald's Gospel Fest in 1987, as the winner's of that competition. Later, Jimmy went on to having one of his Dance songs become #1 for two weeks on Sirius Satellite Radio, another of his songs 'My Jamaica' was licensed to the government of Jamaica, a collaboration 'Got To Be Real' with an Italian producer premiered on MTV's LOGO Network and a love ballad that ended up on The Huffington Post List of TOP 34 SONGS OF 2013. Jimmy Roland says he felt the urge to return to his roots for another project and one where he could pay tribute to his upbringing by his grandparents. He came up with track number 1, 'Southern Truth'. Being a romantic and having had a strong love for romantic music, two of Jimmy's greatest musical influences were Barry White and Dionne Warwick. Those influences make an appearances in in tracks 2 & 4, no doubt. Jimmy Roland has not been shy about expressing the fact that as a child, he endured bullying, mental abuse and spent much of his time as a loner. He realizes that many teenagers and even adults today, face this same problem. Therefore, he wrote the song 'Why Must I Feel Alone' as a message-of-hope for those individuals. YOU ARE worthy, YOU ARE somebody, YOU ARE strong so, hold your head high, with pride and be bold! Enjoy Jimmy Roland's "Southern Hospitality"!
