Charlie and The Contraband is a group of buddies who got together to play music in and around Washington, DC. Two of the guys, K.C. Lukens and Charlie Harrison, have been playing music together since their high school days in Texas. When they both ended up in Washington, they figured it was time to start a band. Charlie then convinced college buddy Justin Cohen to trade his guitar for a bass. Next, with some good luck and a lot of asking the guys picked up Todd Miller (drums) and Jackson Edwards (steel, harmonica) who made time when they weren't heading their own bands (Brother Shamus, The Weathervanes). After a few basement rehearsals, the guys started playing out. They had a great time doing it and decided to put together the Throwing Rocks EP to capture a little of what they were up to.
